He joined the Yankees in 1974 and became a part of Bronx Bomber lore when- during the ninth inning of Game Five of the 1976 ALCS against the Royals at Yankee Stadium- he crushed a first-pitch- walk-off home run off Mark Littell that sent the Yankees to their first World Series since 1964. The Yankees didn't win the Series that year- but- with Chambliss still on the team- they won back-to-back Championships in 1977 and 1978. Chambliss was also with the Yankees- as hitting coach- when they won four World Series between 1996 and 2000- and as of 2006 he is the hitting coach for the Cincinnati Reds. Chris Chambliss has hand signed this 2008 All Star baseball- which comes complete with a Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity.
