Five Ways To Take Care Of Your Sports Apparel

Whatever sport you are in, you can be sure that you will always have fun doing something physical. This, of course, results in your sweating a lot and using up clothes until you can't use them anymore.

Of course, in each sport there are different types of apparel and the one thing you should do is take care of the clothes that you wear. This is especially true if you are a very active sports enthusiast. Here are some ways that you can take care of your apparel.

• Wash – Of course, right after you use your set of sports clothes, the first thing to do is put them in the washing machine. However, don't just dump your clothes in the machine because there are some items that don't belong in the washing machine to begin with.

Make sure that you are not putting in the washing machine some items that need to be dry-cleaned or hand-washed only. A proper wash will make sure that your sports apparel will stay in top condition for a very long time.

• Dry – Another way to make sure that you aren't wearing out the condition of your sports clothing is to make sure that it dries properly before actually using it again. It's not only uncomfortable to wear slightly damp clothing but what you are doing to the material is stretching it while it is wet and “weak.” This makes it easily destructible.

• Iron – After washing and drying your sports apparel, if you are not going to wear it, make sure that it is stored away properly in your closet. However, don't just fold and stow it away. Use an iron to straighten out the creases that have formed from the washing so that the material is straightened out and remains strong and durable. Fold your clothing after ironing and then you can properly place it in your closet or folded away in drawers and cabinets.

• Hang – If you have clothing that cannot be ironed or is not supposed to be ironed because of the material it is made of, then you can also opt for the use of a simple hanger. Hangers will make sure that your clothing will stay straightened out and therefore the material stays durable and elastic. This means that it will always be comfortable to put on and you don't have to worry about too much wear and tear on the cloth.

• More clothes – If you are the type of person who goes cross-country running or plays soccer at least 3 to 4 times a week, then the formula is simple. You should assume the worst and make sure that you have 3 to 4 pairs of sports apparel sets suited for your sport.

You can't use the same set of clothes 3 to 4 times a week. Not only is that unhygienic but it will ensure that your clothes will get old and damaged in a matter of days.

Make sure that you have more than enough pairs of shirts, shorts, socks and shoes to match your sporting lifestyle. This will ensure that you don't spend too much money just buying a new shirt or even a pair of shoes every single week for your game.
