Five Things You Need For A Complete Football Getup

American Football is one of the toughest sports in the planet. It is very physical and involves players tackling and smashing into each other on the field.

If you are the type who is getting into this kind of sport, you will need to be prepared for it. This means more than just being physically fit and changing your sports mindset to focus on winning. It means that you should be aware of what the sport demands and therefore know what is required of you by way of sports apparel. Put simply, this means that you should know what you need to wear for the game itself.

• A helmet – This is one of the very few sports that requires you to have a helmet. Some other sports that need you to wear a helmet include ice hockey, fencing and some other martial art sports that can be quite deadly. But American Football is more than just tossing the pigskin around. It means that you have to be defensive. A helmet is just one of the most basic items that you will need when it comes to football sports apparel.

• Shoulder pads – In American Football, shoulder pads are not quite the same shoulder pads that you will find in business suits and dinner jackets. These shoulder pads are huge and protective. These are required to help you protect your shoulders for when you tackle people on the field or for when you are tackled yourself. The game will have you pushing people around using our upper body strength and it is therefore important that you have this kind of apparel or gear around and on during a game.

• Heat gear – This is basically what you will be wearing underneath all that armor you will be wearing. Football is very physical and you can therefore imagine that your body heat will rise throughout the whole game. You will need shirts, compression shorts, or pants that will help keep you from sweating too much or else you can risk dehydration just playing the sport. This apparel will also keep your body's temperature from rising too high by helping the heat escape properly.

• Cleats – These are a little different from soccer cleats and golf shoes. Football cleats are much bulkier and these are designed so that you can run faster and have a better grip on the ground as you maneuver with the ball. You aren't going to be kicking the ball much so this shoe is not quite built like a soccer shoe. The spikes in the shoe are rubberized and not metal as those sometimes found in golf shoes. Make sure you buy the right set of cleats for your football needs.

• Pads – The protective pads that you need are probably the smallest pieces of apparel that you will need, next to the shoes, of course. You will need knee pads and elbow pads to keep your joints firm and to protect them from impact. Some padding might also be required to protect your abdomen but this is not usually the case when playing football.
