What Makes The N B A Playoffs Special

It's playoff time. In fact, it's just about halfway done. If you've tuned in recently, you might find that the NBA post season is slowly coming in to a close already.

Playoff season in the NBA is unlike any other time of the year. It's where the great teams start to show signs that they are worthy to be called champions, and those that couldn't quite keep up with the level of competition is seeing their season come to an end.

The playoffs mean everything to basketball teams and their players. Now what does this same thing mean to the millions of fans that tune in night in and night out for the games then? Here are a couple of things that makes the playoffs special and why it should be to you too.

1. It's where great players are born.

It's no secret; it's where great basketball players shine brightest. From the Michael Jordans to the Magic Johnsons, Isaiah Thomas' and Wilt Chamberlains of the times, the playoffs are where we get to see the true worth of a player.

Not just their talent, because almost everybody in the NBA has talent – it's something more. It's the intelligence of a player, how much he understands the game of basketball, and his resolve to win that turns players into the great ones that would be remembered for years to come. So keep rooting for the teams that you love, and tune in to their games if you can't watch them live. You might find a flash of genius or witness a moment of greatness that will definitely be talked about for years.

2. It's the time where you know what your favorite teams are made of.

It's about time that you started becoming a believer; it's the time of year where everybody finds out how great and how amazing their teams are. Think of it like the movie “Kingdom of Heaven” wherein Orlando Bloom's character turned every single defender of Jerusalem into knights. Teams and their players practically turn into much better players once they hit the playoffs; they rise above themselves and do great things.

3. You will literally be witnessing basketball history in the making.

Whether it's a shot for the ages or some game-saving blocked shot, basketball history is made at every single stage of the playoffs whether it's the first round or the finals. There is no shortage of basketball greatness in the playoffs, and it's definitely worth watching out for. Wouldn't you like to be one of those people ten years from now that could proudly say that they were witnesses to one of the most amazing plays in basketball ever drawn out?

4. This is the time where great basketball is played.

Great basketball means that teams literally play their hearts out with their eyes set on just one thing – the championship. The playoffs is the time where teams play basketball on a totally different level and only the best teams in the league actually have a shot at the championship title.
