Three Tips On Buying A Sports Bra

There's a large group of women today who have experienced some kind of breast discomfort during sports activities or by just doing simple exercises. And what makes matters worse or alarming is that they do not know where to turn to or who to ask for advice. Others just ignore it and continue their activity and the rest just simply quit exercising.

For an active woman you should know the basic rule of wearing the proper gear. Today, sports bras have evolved and upped to the next level of technical clothing. It will give you the right look on your sports and fitness activities. It is now designed to lessen motion and give comfort to users.

Without proper care and support, sensitive tissues in the breast can easily be damaged and can lead to a more serious illness. To avoid these things from happening here are some tips on getting the right sports bra for you.

The first important tip is that the fit counts and the fit will be dependent on a lot of factors like knowing what you need it for and the kind of activity you will be undergoing.

• Compression bra – This is a traditional bra that you just easily draw over your head. This has no clips or locks and adjustment for better fit and is designed to lessen breast motion by compressing your breast to your rib cage. You can enjoy low impact activities like walking, running, biking and jumping without restricting your breathing and arm motion. This works best for small up to medium breasted women (size A to C cup). These are available in the market sold in small, medium and large sizes.

• Encapsulated bra – The more traditional bra that has cups attached to traditional chest and harness type straps. It encapsulates each breast separately, more comfortably and provides better support compared to compression bras. This is fitted with adjustable wide straps for a more precise fit and sees to it that the closures are well padded so this does not stick or rub while moving.

This kind of sports bra is best suited for women with larger breast (size C to DD cup) because of its heavy duty construction. This is available in traditional bra sizing with a chest and cup size. It is best for high impact activities like mountain biking, team sports and running. And it is suited too for low impact activities like city biking and walking.

In addition to the tips mentioned above here are additional features that should go with the sports bra that you have chosen.

• Moisture Management lining- Sports bra made from wicking materials prevents the sweat to make contact with your skin. It is vital in maintaining body temperature and this will help you stay cool during summer and warm during wintertime.

• Ventilation zones – Select a bra with mesh panels in strategic areas like in between your breasts. This provides easy air conditioning and helps sweat to evaporate and keeps you cool.
